It looks to me like RECIPIENT was logged in using 6440ADA2 at 3:48 pm.
Your IMs went to that resource.  At 9:49 am, RECIPIENT logged in using a
different computer (CB778C43) and hadn't seen the earlier-sent messages
that should have been waiting for him on his other machine (6440ADA2).

Are you sure this wasn't the case?
