[OTR-users] otr proxy problems with german umlaute

Can your friend send you characters with umlauts when you are not using the 
OTR proxy? I'm surprised that OTR would affect anything regarding character 
encoding. (I just did a quick test with my setup, using Adium X on one end 
and Gaim on the other and umlauts show up fine.)
