OTR doesn't protect files that are sent; I'd be surprised if it's even
aware of the file transfers.
If you disable the OTR plugin on both ends does it still crash?
I think there's a slightly newer version of Pidgin - maybe it addressed
some changes in MSN file transfer protocol?
