Karen,

When trying to replicate this, I came across this behaviour of *pidgin*
(not pidgin-otr): pidgin will only change the logging/not-logging status
of a conversation when you start a new conversation. If you start a
conversation with logging on, and you turn off logging in pidgin in the
middle of it, *it continues to keep logs of that conversation*. I would
argue that's a bug in pidgin, I think, but maybe it's just a bad
UI/documentation issue. I've observed this behaviour even with the OTR
plugin completely disabled, so I'm pretty confident it's on the pidgin
side.

[This is with pidgin 2.6.6 on Ubuntu 10.04.4.]

Does that explanation match the behaviour you saw? If not, can you
replicate the misbehaviour and post step-by-step instructions how to
replicate it?

Thanks,
