My spontaneous answer would be discard the plaintext from the
cancelled session. The problem as you mentioned is Pidgin flipping
randomly between the accounts (a behavior I can't reproduce) and the
method of how the plugin handles identification of the account in use.
I'm currently looking into the code of the OTR plugin and how you
handle sessions and how it's done in pidgin encryption. My C is a
little rusted and so it will take some time to give you an answer.
Especially because I'll have to read up on GTK and such. Unfortunately
this is new terrain for me so I can only try to get as close to a
solution as I can.

Again I have to think about pidgin-encrypt who use 6 different icons
to indicate the different states. I just used activated and disabled
as examples to save some time typing. Of course an icon would have to
show all available states of a conversation. All my contacts that use
OTR are down at the moment so it's hard for me to experiment with the
plugin but I'll stick to it. Maybe that's all out of my ballpark but
I'll definitely try.

I never meant to make you upset I was just asking myself how you could
improve an already decent piece of software.

Regards
Markus
