In the meantime I've pushed my plugin code to gitorious if you want to build 
it in its current state.

1) Compile without USING_GTK defined
2) Don't compile gtk-*.c
3) Do compile purple-*.c

(I'll tweak the Makefile as it gets closer to done.)
