this would necessarily be an XMPP-specific adaptation. there's nothing
wrong with that, i think it would be a good idea to make one. but it's
separate from the transport-agnostic "base case" currently catered to by
libotr.

i was wondering if there are XMPP specialities that actually interfere
with implementing that text-IM-only base case?
