[OTR-users] Trouble getting OTR-Pidgin to appear in plugin list after successful compile (Linux)

Interesting...

for the user where I copied the pidgin-otr.so file into the user's plugins directory, I see this:

(20:47:01) plugins: probing /home/xxxx/.purple/plugins/pidgin-otr.so
(20:47:01) plugins: /home/xxxx/.purple/plugins/pidgin-otr.so is not loadable: libotr.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

But the libotr library file does seem to be hanging out where one might expect.

[XXXXXXXXX]$ ls /usr/local/lib/libotr*
/usr/local/lib/libotr.a  /usr/local/lib/libotr.la  /usr/local/lib/libotr.so  /usr/local/lib/libotr.so.5  /usr/local/lib/libotr.so.5.0.0

A link in this case.

[XXXXXXXXX]$ ls -lah /usr/local/lib/libotr.so.5
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Jan  2 04:29 /usr/local/lib/libotr.so.5 -> libotr.so.5.0.0

For a user where I did not copy pidgin-otr.so into the user's plugins directory, there's no mention of pidgin-otr when I run pidgin -d.
