[OTR-users] Facebook blocking OTR

Solved with the help of the good people of this list.

The problem is described here:
http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/14781#comment:4 and it stems from
the fact some of us have completely turned off "apps & websites".

If you visit https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=privacy&section=apps
(while logged in to FB) and see what's on the attached PNG, you need
to "turn on apps" and then OTR will work over FB chat.

One small caveat: ID verification over XMPP (with question/answer or
pre-shared secret) does not work at this time over FB. It seems they
have not implemented this feature, since the same challenge/response
protocol works fine over Google Chat.
