Yeah, that's a known bug that we haven't had a chance to squish yet.
It's related to the misfeature of pidgin that it groups conversations
from different buddies into the same window.  It's completely unclear to
me what should happen in the case that one of these buddies is, say, OTR
Private, and one is in the clear.  When you receive a message in that
window, how do you know if it was sent securely?

That being said, we can try to squish the crash bug before we figure out
what the correct behaviour should be.
