Neither path seems to exist. what is the file tree for this program
supposed to look like? Perhaps I can find it via locate/slocate...<br>

It should go where all the other ones go; probably something like
/usr/lib/gaim/ but maybe /usr/local/lib/gaim/ .
If that's where you're putting it, but it's still not showing up, run
"gaim -d" to see what the problem is.
