From ian at cypherpunks.ca Tue Jan 18 19:27:22 2005 From: ian at cypherpunks.ca (Ian Goldberg) Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2005 19:27:22 -0500 Subject: [OTR-announce] New software online Message-ID: <20050119002722.GH1060@smtp.paip.net> A whole bunch of new software. See http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ for details. Version 1.0.3 of libotr released. Changes: - The library has been separated from gaim-otr, so that other programs can use it without having to install gaim-otr. - We may as well try to use the "tag" method of checking for OTR, even when we don't already know a fingerprint for the correspondent. - Refactored the logic parts of gaim-otr into libotr, so they can be shared by other libotr-enabled apps. Version 1.0.3 of gaim-otr released. Changes: - Generate private keys automatically, if needed. Show a Please Wait dialog while this is happening. - New version for Windows gaim available. Version 0.1.0 of otrproxy released. This is the first release. - This is a localhost proxy you can use with almost any AIM client in order to participate in Off-the-Record conversations. The current version is 0.1.0, which means it's nothing like ready for prime time. In particular, it's got no UI at all (well, it outputs things to stdout). Read the README file carefully. - Available for Linux and Windows, but it's known to work on OSX, too. As the various package maintainers send in their packages, we'll stick them on the web page, and announce them here. [Evan: the Adium X port is all yours. ;-) ] - Ian From ian at cypherpunks.ca Wed Jan 19 13:45:17 2005 From: ian at cypherpunks.ca (Ian Goldberg) Date: Wed, 19 Jan 2005 13:45:17 -0500 Subject: [OTR-announce] New packages from Paul Message-ID: <20050119184517.GR1060@smtp.paip.net> Paul's sent in a bunch of Fedora RPM and SRPM packages, as well as Windows installers for gaim-otr and otrproxy. They're up on the web page now. http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ So: which IM client is going to be the first to support OTR "out of the box"? ;-) - Ian From ian at cypherpunks.ca Wed Jan 19 20:04:41 2005 From: ian at cypherpunks.ca (Ian Goldberg) Date: Wed, 19 Jan 2005 20:04:41 -0500 Subject: [OTR-announce] otrproxy-0.1.1, now with OSX! Message-ID: <20050120010441.GX1060@smtp.paip.net> Nikita tracked down the last bug (*knock*) that was making the HTTP proxy part of otrproxy crash. He also packaged up otrproxy for OSX. So we now bring you otrproxy-0.1.1, for Linux, Windows, and OSX. http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ Enjoy! - Ian From ian at cypherpunks.ca Sat Jan 22 16:48:54 2005 From: ian at cypherpunks.ca (Ian Goldberg) Date: Sat, 22 Jan 2005 16:48:54 -0500 Subject: [OTR-announce] libotr 1.0.4 is up Message-ID: <20050122214854.GH1060@smtp.paip.net> libotr 1.0.4 is online. It's now autoconfiscated, thanks to Greg Troxel. It also builds a shared library, so the distinction between the libotr and libotr-devel packages is now sensical. :-) I've rebuilt the gaim-otr and otrproxy debian packages, too, so that they use (and depend on) the new shared library. http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ - Ian
